BUDDHIST PILGRIMAGE TOUR WITH ORISSA

Destinations Covered: DELHI – LUCKNOW – SRAVASTI – LUMBINI – KUSHINAGAR – VARANASI – BODHGAYA – PATNA – KOLKATA – BHUBANESWAR

DAY-01: Delhi – Lucknow – Sravasti

You will leave Delhi for Lucknow in the morning and on arrival in Lucknow; guests will meet with our representative for the Buddhist pilgrimage tour and will be taken straight to Sravasti. On arrival at Sravasti, you will check in at the hotel where you will be free to relax.

DAY-02: Sravasti – Lumbini

Post breakfast in the hotel; take a visit to Sahet Mahet, Kosala’s ancient Kingdom capital, Buddhist temples and Jetvana Vihar. Later, leave Sravasti and head towards Lumbini in Nepal, birthplace of Lord Buddha. Check into a hotel after getting there. Spend the overnight in the hotel.

DAY-03: Lumbini – Kushinagar

Take a visit the temple of Mayadevi, Stupa and Ashokan Pillar while reviewing the splendid Buddhist historic. Head towards Kushinagar where the Lord Buddha entered the position of serenity and harmony. Reaching there, check in to a hotel and spend the night over there.

DAY-04: Kushinagar – Varanasi

Take a visit the temple of Mahapari Nirvana and Stupa Ramabhar in the morning. Have breakfast and then leave for Varanasi where your will check in to a hotel and spend the overnight.

DAY-05: Varanasi – Bodhgaya

Experience the expedition of Buddhist India, while taking a boat ride on Ganga River to view the Ghats. Visit the Temple of Bharat Mata and Benaras Hindu University at a later point of time. Leave for Bodhgaya en route visiting the place of Sarnath. Explore the temples of Buddhism, Museums, Stupas and Remnants. On reaching the place of Bodhgaya, get into a hotel for rest.

DAY-06: Bodhgaya – Patna

Observe the Bodhgaya in the morning, where Lord Buddha achieved illumination under the revered Bodhi tree. Visit the great temple of Mahabodhi and then head for Patna via Rajgir and Nalanda falling in between. Take a tour of Gridhakuta Hills and Jail of Bimbisara. You will head towards Nalanda, the oldest University ever and also the International centre for Buddhist studies. Reach Patna for onward journey.

DAY-07: Patna –Kolkata

Arrive in Kolkata and get transported to the hotel. PM: Half day city tour of Kolkata covering St. John Church, Victoria Memorial Hall and Light & Sound Show at Victoria. Stay overnight in the hotel.

DAY-08: Kolkata

After having breakfast – Start Full day sightseeing, covering Kali Temple at Kalighat, Mother Teresa Home, Birla Temple, Birla Museum, Indian Museum and Dalhousie Square for British Architecture. Stay overnight at the hotel in Kolkata.

DAY-09: Arrive in Bhubaneswar Ex-Kolkata by FLT

Meet and greet upon arrival in the Bhubaneswar airport and transport to the hotel. Check in and later proceed to visit the city of temples. Stay overnight in the hotel “Swosti Plaza”.

DAY-10: Bhubaneswar

In the morning, visit the Lingaraj temple and Vaital temple. Then, proceed to White tiger safari at Nandankanan zoo. In the afternoon, you can visit Jain caves- Khandagiri and Udayagiri. Stay overnight in the hotel “Swosti Plaza”.

DAY-11: Bhubneshwar – Konark – Puri

Today, drive from Bhubaneswar to Puri, famous for the Jagannath Temple, one of the four holiest pilgrimage centers for Hindus, and also its superb beaches. En route visit the Konark Sun Temple, one of the world’s wonders according to Mark Twain. It is amongst the most vivid architectural treasures of India. Stay overnight in the hotel “Hans coco palms”.

DAY-12: Puri

This morning, visit Puri city, including the Jagannath Temple. Then proceed to visit the Chilika Lake on Satpada. Take a Boat cruise to explore friendly Irrawaddy Dolphins. Stay overnight in the hotel “Hans coco palms”.

DAY-13: Puri – Bhubaneswar

In the morning, head towards Bhubaneswar. En route visit the Raghurajpur artisan village, Pipli applique craft village and Tantrik temple in the Herapur village and at Dhauli Buddhist Stupa. Stay overnight in the hotel “Swosti Plaza”.
