Day 01: 19 Oct. 2015 Arrive at Raipur(Monday)

Arrive in Raipur – Kanker
Welcome to your “Dusshera Tribal” tour! On arrival, our representative will assist at Raipur Airport and then, drive (2 and a half hours -140 kms.) to Kanker. At the palace, guests will be welcomed in traditional way. After getting refreshed, an entertainment program by a folk of Chhattisgarh musicians will be performed while having beverages and some snacks. Royal family members will join them to share the regional life insights. Stay overnight in the Kanker Palace.

Day 02: 20 Oct,2015 In & around Kanker(Tuesday)

Guests will drive towards the winding ghats of Keshkal just after breakfast to have some spectacular views of the tropical jungle below. Later, a visit to the village of Deer-Horn Muria tribe while taking a view of the Ghotul System. Here, you will enjoy some superb food of village with local toddy and also get an opportunity to observe and enjoy tribal life closely. (100 kms Drive 3hrs)

Day 03: 21 Oct. 2015. Kanker – Jagdalpur(Wednesday)

Today, after breakfast, the guests will take part in the Dusshera festival (held at the Palace).
This festival is uniquely celebrated in Kanker with the village people gathering with their gods and tribal deities to the Palace where they are traditionally received by the members of the Royal family followed by prayers and offerings to the gods and shaman possessions and dancing.
Later the Guest will have lunch along with the villagers and other guests of the palace in the traditional way. Afternoon they will proceed to Jagdalpur. Stay overnight in the Jungle Resort of Bastar / Similar.

Day 04: 22 Oct.2015. Festival at Bastar(Thursday)

After settling in comfortably in the resort and quick snacks, proceed to the Bastar Palace and Danteshwari temple where the main events of Dusshera take place.
(Its once so happened that the tribes invited the king to share their first harvest, which they offer to their deities with a celebration. The king refused to come. The disappointed tribes stole the royal chariot and refused to give it back unless the King accepted their invitation. Seeing the respect and love of his people the ruler was forced to go and have their new harvest. This later became a tradition to steal the Chariot, followed by the king attending their festival of Navakhai. So every year this ritual is performed with various tribes of the region attending the festival with great warmth and respect which eventually becomes one of the most colorful cultural event of the tribes.
After the festival is over, return to the resort for cocktail over bonfire followed by dinner.

Day 05: 23 Oct.2015 Weekly Market (Friday)

Visit the Chitrakote waterfalls, the museum and the tribal village. Then in the afternoon, visit the Nagarnar weekly market. Stay overnight.

Day 06: 24 Oct.2015. (Saturday)

Take a day visit to the Kanger valley National park to discover Dhurwa Tribe, living in the core area of the sanctuary. Also, we will witness beautiful Stalactite and Stalagmite caves along with the serene waterfall called Tiradgarh. Then, drive to Jeypore and stay overnight at the hotel in Jeypore.

Day 07: 25Oct.2015. Tribal Market(Sunday)

After breakfast, drive to Mundiguda to visit the famous Bonda tribe who come once every week to the local market. It is a unique opportunity to see such a colorful concentration of tribal at one place. Most interesting is to watch the Bonda women in their colorful jewelries, marketing commodities. Later, visit the Bhuian tribal villages.  Stay overnight at the hotel in Jeypore.

Day 08: 26 Oct.2015. Nature(Monday)

After breakfast, drive to Araku valley en route visit the Gadaba tribal villages. Stay overnight in Araku.

Day 09: 27 Oct. 2015 Temple & Relax(Tuesday)

After breakfast, drive to Vizag en route visiting the Simhachalam Temple. Stay overnight in Vizag on the beach. Engage in leisure activities.

Day 10: 28 Oct. 2015 (Wednesday)

Today bid farewell to the “Dusshera Tribal” tour! After breakfast  in the morning, check out from hotel and drive towards the airport for further journey.
